“Bar None Ranches Ltd. is a large farming and horse breeding and training centre. We have an extensive farm yard that consists of a Maintenance Shop, four large barns, indoor and outdoor arenas, grain handling system, and 5 large hay sheds. “I contracted Jesse Berry of Bear Excavating Ltd. in 2016 to build a 100 by 200 ft. outdoor sand riding arena at my farm south of Okotoks. Having had some experience as a developer, I was impressed by Jesse's knowledge of proper drainage and watershed. Whether it's a road or an arena, the base is everything. Jesse and his team were knowledgeable, respectful, and easy to work with. The company is able to work in a turnkey manner by having a variety of equipment including large dozers and hoes, small skid steers, and tandem gravel trucks and pups. This effectively minimized delays usually caused by waiting for availability of material haulers. Jesse has built a number of riding arenas, from sand rings for show jumpers to rodeo grounds, and has acquired a good depth of knowledge of appropriate base material and sand. I am so pleased with my arena. The drainage is unbelievable - no puddling or pooling of water - and I have often ridden immediately following a rain storm. Jesse also improved the overall drainage around the farm yard and driveway with very simple and inexpensive fixes. I highly recommend Bear Excavating Ltd.”
